'Ode to Nirvana’ A tribute to Nirvana, inspired by Kurt Cobain's journals. I aimed to highlight the happier moments amidst the chaos. As a huge fan of 90s grunge, Nirvana's music is timeless to me.
This piece has many layers, starting with gel prints of album covers and media surrounding the band. The guitar is crafted solely from Kurt's journals. Initially, I planned to blend album covers in the background, but it evolved into a collage with multiple layers.
The papers used include vintage player piano paper, rice paper, tissue paper, and more, all gel printed or hand-painted. As the piece progressed, snippets of album covers & my favorite images peek through, reflecting my love for the band and the turmoil in Kurt Cobain's thoughts.
